Planning
Your Website
t
is our mission at Web Design's By Jill to create a partnership with our
customers, working together to create a website tailored to meet their
needs. This section will help you get started to prepare an initial plan
that we can review prior to building your website.
Beginning Steps:
1. I.S.P. (Internet Service Provider): Decide who you will use for your
dial up connection to the Internet, if you don't already have one.
2. Website Host: Who will you use to host your website? If you're unsure,
we will help you.
3. Domain Name (www.yourdomainname.com): Are you going to buy your domain
name? If so, let Web Design's By Jill obtain and register it for you!
4. Sketch a basic rough layout design of what you want your website layout
to look like. Draw a for each page and show what you want your website
to basically look like. This does not have to be fancy. A rough layout
will do. You can start with your homepage, draw in each sub-page, and
add any links to other websites that you may want to refer to.
5.
Next draw a simple content layout (like an organization chart) of what
you want on each page. The top box will be your home page. From there
you will have the pages that will be linked from the home page. Then expand
to what will be linked to each of these 2nd level pages.
6.
Once you have a plan you're comfortable with, contact Web Design's By
Jill for your initial consultation. We will review the plan with you and
make suggestions if needed. This initial plan will help us to work together
in the targeted direction.
* We recommend that you view examples of sites on the internet or our
Portfolio section to get some ideas of website designs.
* If you have any questions, need help or just don't feel comfortable
preparing the above, please contact us via e-mail at info@webdesignsbyjill.com
